Hillsboro School District is the fourth-largest public school district in Oregon, serving more than 18,000 students in 37 schools. GENERAL DUTIES:
The District Financial Officer manages a general fund budget of more than $269 million (all funds budget of more than $445 million), and will oversee a variety of departments and functions, including the Budget and Finance Office, Payroll, and Benefits. The District Financial Officer ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records, compliance with state and federal regulations, and the efficient use of resources. This role involves strategic planning, budgeting, financial reporting, and collaboration with various departments to support the district’s educational goals. The District Financial Officer sits on the Superintendent’s Cabinet.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- CPA certification is highly desirable
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in an educational setting
- Strong knowledge of state and federal financial regulations
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse stakeholders
Salary and Benefits:
- Annual compensation: $173,615 plus general salary increases aligned with licensed staff contract
