GENERAL DUTIES:
The Instructional Coach promotes and supports successful instruction for students and performs related duties in accordance with District policies and terms of the teacher contract. In line with the School Improvement Plan, the coach provides effective leadership and professional development through the use of a research-based coaching cycle to increase student achievement. The instructional coach also maintains a cooperative attitude with staff, parents, and students.
The Student Success Coach is responsible for supporting staff and students in achieving a positive, productive school climate with the primary focus on providing and supporting social-emotional awareness and instruction through evidenced-based and trauma-informed responses and practices. The Student Success Coach supports classroom teachers in student management through professional development, modeling instructional practices, collaboratively creating support plans and systems that prioritizes all students access to high quality academic and social emotional instruction. The goal is for the Student Success Coach to be a resource to provide and maintain prevention and intervention strategies and practices.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A valid State of Oregon Teaching License appropriate for the position
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- The ability to follow oral and written instructions
- The ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures and/or backgrounds
- The ability to work harmoniously with others
- Proficient oral and written communication skills in English
- Proficient in the use of computer and Internet based applications, including but not limited to email and systems applications
- The ability to learn new automated systems as they are bought online by the District . Three years of teaching experience, including various leadership roles
- Demonstrate ability in organizational skills
- Demonstrate ability in collaborative processes
