GENERAL DUTIES:
Monitor bus routes to ensure that all routes and trips have an assigned driver on a daily basis. Serve as the initial point of contact for drivers on the road to get assistance and to aid in communication.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Proficient oral and written communication skills in English
- Proficient in the use of computer and Internet based applications, including but not limited to email and systems applications
- Hold a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and a valid Oregon School Bus Driver’s Certificate or be able to obtain both within 60 days
- Familiarity with the geographic area inside the District boundaries
- Pass a pre-employment drug test

Previous dispatcher experience preferred.

Must be highly skilled in Google Drive suite, specifically Google sheets.

Must be detailed in systems and organizational skills.

Bilingual English/Spanish Required (bilingual is defined as fluency in reading, writing and speaking in two languages as determined by District screening tool)
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Apply established protocols for the coverage of transportation routes by assigning drivers and assistants
- Coordinate the assignment of District vehicles to drivers
- Coordinate the assignment of trips and report unfilled trips to appropriate personnel
- Organize the distribution of materials and equipment related to transportation routes and trips
- Assist drivers in identifying alternatives to avoid temporary problems encountered while on a route
- Perform the duties of a bus driver, as needed
- Pass quarterly random drug tests
